Why are there so many bodegas in the Bronx? In 2008, CUP worked with the Bronx Helpers from the New Settlement Apartments and teaching artist Jonathan Bogarin to look deeper into the bodegas that so many people in the Bronx rely on for food shopping. I developed the curriculum along with the teaching artist, and, together with Rosten Woo, edited the video. Bodega Down Bronx has screened at food justice organizations, museums, and classrooms all over New York City. To watch the video, go here.

We spend so much time on our phones. But their inner workings are still a real mystery. How does my voice get from here to there? Who owns the air in between? And why does my bill look like this? CUP worked with teaching artist Helki Frantzen and students from St. Johns Recreation Center to unravel the mysteries of cell phone infrastructure. We interviewed Verizon, engineers, lawyers, and consumer advocates and created a video to explain the policies, pipes, and people that impact your cell phone. To watch the video, go here.
